Who We Are

LiLimerick Feral Cats is a dedicated, volunteer-run organization committed to improving the lives of feral and stray cats within Limerick City and County. We operate with compassion and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by unowned felines. Our primary focus is on humane population management through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs, which not only stabilize colonies but also improve the health and well-being of individual cats. Beyond TNR, we strive to provide essential care, including veterinary attention for sick or injured cats, and to educate the community about responsible cat ownership and the importance of coexisting peacefully with feral populations. We are driven by a desire to create a more humane environment for all cats in Limerick.

Our Programs & Services

At LiLimerick Feral Cats, we are dedicated to humanely managing and improving the lives of feral and stray cats in Limerick City and County. Our core activities focus on effective and compassionate strategies to address the challenges faced by unowned feline populations.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR): Our primary program involves the humane trapping of feral and stray cats, transporting them to veterinary clinics for spaying or neutering and vaccination, and then returning them to their established colonies to live out their lives without contributing to further overpopulation.
Emergency Veterinary Care: We strive to provide necessary veterinary attention to sick or injured feral and stray cats we encounter, arranging for treatment and care to alleviate suffering.
Community Education and Awareness: We work to educate the Limerick community about the benefits of TNR, responsible feeding practices for stray cats, and the importance of coexisting peacefully with feral colonies.
Managed Colony Support: Where appropriate, we support the establishment and maintenance of managed feral cat colonies, ensuring the cats have access to food, water, and shelter, often with the assistance of dedicated caretakers.
[Potential Adoption Program]: In cases where friendly stray cats or kittens are found, we may facilitate their adoption into loving homes after they have been health-checked and socialized.
